Description

We are hiring for a suitable candidate to fill the position of  SALES MANAGER – INSTITUTIONS/PROJECTS reporting to the Head of Sales. This is a senior level position that requires an individual who is able to demonstrate a high level of techno-commercial knowledge while dealing with private contractors and government business.

1. Main purpose of the position:

Responsible for the planning and execution of the sales strategy and coordination of the Projects channel in order to achieve sales targets and the objectives of the Business Unit. Also tasked with the responsibility of growing and development of Institutional domestic market for the new product lines.

2. Reporting in to this position (designation and level)

  1. Routine/Direct: Sales Officers/Sales Engineers
  2. Functional/Indirect: Customer Service Executives

3. Key responsibilities:

  1. To ensure the segment sales team attain the budgeted sales and deliver effective service to the customers.
  2. Collecting information on up-coming projects in the country with the aim of turning them into good business prospects for the company.
  3. To meet Sales, Price Realisation, Collection and Market Growth Targets as per the approved Monthly and Annual Budget.
  4. To ensure recovery of all the outstanding accounts within the agreed credit terms.
  5. To keep track of market trends and to prepare Plan / Strategies for take corrective actions including timely revision of Pricing Structure & Discount Structures with the approval of the Business Head;
  6. To receive and ensure that customer complaints are attended to, solved and corrective actions are taken.
  7. To ensure the agreed sales/ marketing strategies and credit policies are effectively implemented.
  8. To follow up the orders for colour products and traded material to ensure their availability for sale.
  9. To ensure close monitoring of the existing customers through regular field visits continued assessment of their performance. 
  10. To organize workshops/seminars for ensuring customers, Architects, Engineers, Contractors and other target groups are equipped with information on how to use the company’s products effectively. 
  11. Processing production orders, sales orders and quotations/bids for various customer requirements. 
  12. To apprise customers about the disposal measures to be adopted for the scarp generated from our products like packing material etc.
  13. To continuously review the related processes to strengthen internal controls and submit proposal for revision in processes for the approval of HOD;
  14. To Manage Performance of line subordinates
  15. Any other duties as may be assigned by management. 

 

Requirements

 

1. Qualifications required:

  • Minimum academic qualification: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, combining a commercial/technical understanding of the business.
  • Qualifications as an added advantage: None
  • Professional registration:   None

2. Experience required:

General work experience (years): 5 to 10 years out of which min 5 years in senior sales role.

Industry: Manufacturing Sector or FMCG, with specific engagement with various stakeholders like Architects, Building Engineers & Surveyors, Contractors, procurement in both private and public sectors.

3. Key competencies and skills:

Good techno/commercial skills

Deliver on set targets and manage through team.

4. Language requirements:

English.
